Company Story
Coming from a family with a long history of homebuilding, Peter Shaddock, Jr., always knew that he would one day continue the family tradition by becoming involved in the business he had known his entire life.
His father, Peter Shaddock, Sr., had been building luxury-level custom homes for more than 30 years when the two joined forces to form a new company, Sotherby Homes, in 1995. They recognized that the market was demanding upscale, affordable homes in prime neighborhood locations. They realized that they could offer homes that were superior in terms of creativity, design and materials and incorporated some of the same features and quality details seen only in luxury custom homes, yet were still affordable.
Sotherby Homes quickly began to create a lasting impression in the minds of homebuyers with distinctive elevations and designs as well as stunning details and craftsmanship throughout their homes. They established a reputation as builders who care and take pride in their work as demonstrated by the overall quality and creativity of all of their homes.
Sotherby Homes is still a family company. Peter Jr. is president. His brother, Todd, and sister, Beth, are both now part of the management team after spending considerable time learning about the business as part of the builder team. Everyone who works for the company, from employees to the many skilled craftsman and contractors, is considered part of the Shaddock family.
Today, Sotherby Homes is one of the fastest growing homebuilders in the DFW area. We have been recognized over the years with various awards from best product design to best architectural product to best interior merchandising, as well as numerous sales and marketing achievements. We have also been presented with the STAR GRAND AWARD, the most prestigious award given by the Texas Association of Builders and the McSam BUILDER OF THE YEAR AWARD presented by the Home Builders Association of Greater Dallas. These accolades are all due to the service-oriented professionals who make up Sotherby Homes and the visionary insight to build distinctive, high quality, affordable homes in the most desired neighborhoods in the metroplex.
